An extremely popular player on the North West jazz scene, saxophonist MIKE SMITH divides his time between fronting his quintet and touring internationally as a sideman with artists like Elkie Brooks, Tony Hadley and Kid Creole. In 2018 the Ginger Tunes Quintet, including
JAMIE BROWNFIELD (trumpet) and TOM KINCAID (keyboards), recorded 'Winging It' which, with its tenor and trumpet reworkings of favourite standards is reminiscent of the classic studio albums
of Ben Webster and Harry Sweets Edison. A highly entertaining band, the Ginger Tunes Quintet is completed by ED HARRISON (bass) and
JACK COTTERILL (drums).
Chwaraewr hynod boblogaidd ar olygfa jazz y Gogledd Orllewin, mae MIKE SMITH, sacsoffonydd yn rhannu ei amser rhwng blaen ei chwintet enwog ac yn teithio yn rhyngwladol fel sideman gydag artistiaid fel Elkie Brooks, Tony Hadley a Kid Creole. Yn 2018, roedd y Fingyll Ginger Tunes, gan gynnwys JAMIE BROWNFIELD (trwmped) a TOM KINCAID (allweddellau), a recordiwyd 'Winging It' sydd, gyda'i ailwampio tenor a thwmped o hoff safonau yn atgoffa'r albwm stiwdio clasurol o Ben Webster a Harry Sweets Edison . Mae band Hyfrydwr Ginger Tunes wedi'i gwblhau gan
ED HARRISON (bas dwbl) a
JACK COTTERILL (drymiau).
