Coltrane, Pat Metheny a Chick Corea.
Mae Steve Oakes wedi ymddangos sawl gwaith yng Ngŵyl Gitarau Ryngwladol Cilgwri
a bydd yn cyd-chwarae ag ED KAINYEK (sacs) a aned yn Sierra Leone. Ymhlith
uchafbwyntiau gyrfa Ed mae chwarae mewn sesiwn jamio yng nghlwb jazz poblogaidd
Matt and Phreds, Manceinion pan alwodd sawl aelod o’r gerddorfa fyd-enwog Jazz at
Lincoln Centre Orchestra a arweinir gan Wynton Marsalis, draw i chwarae gyda’i
bedwarawd. Mae ei arddull fras, llawn mynegiant yn galw i gof chwaraewyr fel Grover Washington Jr a Dexter Gordon ac mae eisoes yn boblogaidd gyda chynulleidfaoedd Jazz Gogledd Cymru ers iddo ddod â'i fand ei hunan i'r ardal.

This well-rehearsed outfit, led by consummate jazz guitarist STEVE OAKES, will be playing an exciting and eclectic mixture of modern jazz comprising be-bop, latin jazz, funk, and contemporary takes on standards with influences ranging from John Coltrane to Pat Metheny and Chick Corea .
A frequent performer at the Wirral International Guitar Festival, Steve Oakes will be joined by Sierra Leone-born ED KAINYEK on sax. With career highlights including a jam session at the popular Matt and Phreds jazz club in Manchester when several members of the world-renowned Wynton Marsalis Lincoln Centre Orchestra dropped in to play with his quartet, Ed, whose earthy and expressive style evokes players like Grover Washington Jr. and Dexter Gordon is already a popular figure with North Wales Jazz audiences after having brought his own band to the area.
Completing the line-up of the Steve Oakes Quintet are GAVIN BARRAS (double bass), ANDRZEJ BARANEK (keyboards) and a familiar faces to jazz audiences and festival goers across the region, TIM FRANKS (drums).
